about
A recording and sound experiment from Tropical Storm Eta, November 8th 2020. The recording captures the anxiety of a flooding neighborhood, wind battered windows and the steadily deteriorating global climate - tropical storms don't typically happen in November.
Stormwield utilizes Lom Usi microphones and a Zoom h4 recorder, capturing just over a half hour of the storm. It was then fed into a modular patch using VCV rack and projected into the environment and recaptured.
Best listened to in those fragile, intimate moments. Minimalism, introspection and a quieting of the mind was the focus of this piece.
